If you procure one sweater this A/W it should without a doubt be this one. If you don’t like it, you don’t like menswear.

I like it, but being English I wouldn’t wear it. I was brought up with English cricket sweaters being cable knit (example here: http://definitivetouch.com/news/wool-cricket-sweater-press/)
That’s interesting to me. So is it the idea that Englishmen always prefer cable knit sweaters or the actual cricket sweater is typically cable knit and you would desire to stay true to tradition?
I usually find myself actually drawn to designers who have interesting takes on traditional menswear items. Something about the deconstruction of the norms or the slight changes on commonplace gear men often wear can somehow be both different and classic at the same time.
Good question, I think it’s just seeing the colored bands on cable knits and that as a kid I’d see ‘cheap knockoffs’ that were not authentic. I think it’s my problem that I have to rectify rather than anything wrong with Gant!
I’ve looked and looked again, and still I couldn’t wear it. I’m off to the psychiatrist…
