Alden Factory Tour
January 28, 2012
If your always curious about all the significance footwear fiend bloggers often place on shoe manufacturing terms like, “hand sewn uppers, Goodyear Welted construction, leather insoles, cork layers and tempered steel shanks,” then this Epaulet visit to the Alden factory is for you.

Watching that kind of care and skill go into a beautiful product just never gets old. And not to get all preachy, but “you do get what you pay for”.
Shit, not preachy at all my man. First lesson of menswear is “You Get What You Pay For.”
Still love watching this video.
Never gets old. BTW, let me know the next time you come down this way. I want to introduce you to the Makr Carry Goods gents and get some unhurried time.
Great man, this is all I needed…to be even more enthusiastic about Alden. If you were to put on your Psychologist hat, what would constitute an Alden Addiction? Planning your next three pairs to purchase in advance? Being unable to decide which pair to buy because you love too many to choose? Buying an unnecessary piece of knitwear simply because it would bring out the color of your PTBs? Selling family heirlooms to for some cordovan Tankers? At what point is this actually unhealthy? Ha!
Haha. Only a pathology if you buy so many you can no longer afford groceries.
