Return to Warby Parker
I’m a gent who wears eyeglasses everyday, everywhere. There was a time I fought the contact fight but the older I get the less I am willing to jam circular plastic into my eyes for the sake of 20/20 vision when I can easily wear glasses and not suffer the dry and red eyes that come with playing the contact game. Over the years I’ve come to appreciate the way eyewear enhances any attire and is a sharp accessory I get to add to my daily apparel.
With a short interlude after procuring and enjoying the Fillmore (and the addition of a pair of Persol) I’ve made a return to Warby Parker. This time around I’ve opted to not only give their eyeglasses another go-around but also to add a pair of their prescription and polarized sunglasses to the mix. While there is not currently a way to order their prescription sunglasses online (word on the street it’s in development) just give them a call (888-492-7297) and the good folks at WP can fill your order via phone.
While I went for the Preston in Gimlet Tortoise and the Jasper in Whiskey Tortoise, head over to Warby Parker to scout the inventory for yourself.

Really nice. I too have mostly given up on the contact game. My glasses are getting a seven day a week run now and these dark tortoise Warby Parkers have my name all over them.
At $95 a pop and free shipping, you really can’t lose.
Just listened to an interview last night on “The Entrepreneurs” from Monocle 24 with the guys from Warby Parker.
I entered the contact game and haven’t looked back. I think it depends on finding a lens that works. My wife wears a different brand of lenses and a while back we tried each others brand. We both hated it and went back to our own brand.
That said, I still have eyeglasses for those days when my eyes just can’t take contacts. I would probably choose the same frames, especially those sunglasses. Those are sweet.
Congrats on the baby BTW.
The last contacts I bought were the high end Acuvue Oasys and my eyes couldn’t take more than a few hours at a time in them. No worries though, as I have grown more than accustom to wearing glasses.
Thanks for the baby congrats. We’re pretty damn excited and nervous about it.
Those are the contacts I wear. They work for me, but my wife tried them and had a similar experience as you.
Excited and nervous-yup, that’s what we felt when we were expecting.
Many people cannot actually achieve 20 / 20 eyesight in contacts (myself included).
I suffered the humiliation of an eyepatch at age four to correct a lazy eye, I learned early I’d earned the right to wear glasses and tell others to sod off.
Well done on the sodding off. Over the years I’ve certainly come to see eyewear as adding a certain sage and regal quality to a man’s attire.
Big fan of Warby Parker here. I wear black Japhys and tortoise Webbs, but those Prestons are calling me…
Big fan of Warby Parker. I did the 5-frame sampler sent to me and ended up with the amber Miles frame. Great customer service.
