Driver Moccasin | Assemblage
June 22, 2012
The driver moccasin is a summer essential for most footwear enthusiasts, as its comfortable qualities pair wearability with a leisurely look. Similar to boat shoes, few of us purchase them for their original use, as their rubber tabbing is intended to help the wearer better grip the gas, break and clutch pedals. That being said, don’t let their nubby soles steer you away from taking a pair out for a spin this summer.
Here’s an assemblage of a few that will get your motor running.

Got the Cole Haans with the tie instead of the loafer strap. Very comfortable but the only thing to worry about (with all drivers, really) is the square-shaped heel. If you walk like most people, the first place you’ll see wear is the outside corner of your moc’s heel, right on the leather. Because the rubber sole is narrower than your heel (as opposed to dress shoes, in which case it’s reversed) you will probably be scraping this area on the pavement.
That said, I really love my mocs and think they’re fantastic for the summertime.
A fine list. I got these from Johnston and Murphy for Father’s day and really dig them. I hope you are doing well bud.
