Taylor Stitch | Selvage Denim
The gents over at Taylor Stitch just dropped some new selvage denim on the wide world of menswear including 13.5 oz options from Cone and Nisshinbo Mills. And coming in at $145, you’d be hard pressed to find raw selvage at a better price.
From TS, “Simple, clean and classic. A man’s blue jean. Democratic fit, they are tailored but by no means skinny. Medium rise with added shape to keep the back waistband against your skin. Room in the thigh, tailored through the leg and some extra space to accommodate ‘the boys.’ Sanforized raw denim will not shrink in the waist and leg. Instead, it will stretch where they feel tight. It will shrink roughly 1” in length. 36″ inseam.”
Make your way over to Taylor Stitch to investigate.

I bought a couple pairs (when they were $125) – love the fit and denim itself, but pretty mediocre construction wise in my opinion. Patch is falling apart (and is too small), some stitching is coming undone…. I guess that’s what you get for this price?
I have some jeans from Taylor Stitch, and the fit and quality is great.
Any idea on whether to size down?
I believe they are true to size so it depends on how you want your raw denim to fit and if you plan on wearing it into the ground before washing.

Gotcha – thanks!
I got their first release of denim last year and mine are killing it. Love them.
