John Derian | Découpage Trays
Honestly, I don’t know what the hell “decoupage” is but insider information (aka Wikipedia) informs us that “Decoupage (or découpage) is the art of decorating an object by gluing colored paper cutouts onto it in combination with special paint effects, gold leaf and so on.” Was that helpful? No, not at all.
Let me level with you. Buy these to hold your everyday carry. Put it on the counter or on your desk in the office. Purchase one as a gift. If you have to, tell people it’s made from handblown glass. If pressed even brag that it’s made in the U.S.
But never, ever use the word découpage.
From Stag, “John Derian and his staff of artisans has been making the finest in decoupage plates, platters, paperweights, coasters and bowls in his studio in New York City since 1989. What John Derian does better than most is turning the things your home needs into things you want to have in your space.”
