Call me crazy but I’m seriously considering the NB/J.Crew Rainier Hiker Boots. Huge fan of the light tan version with the red laces and the english tan has a certain appeal as well. In some ways they have a Frankenstein’s Monster type of charm but the more I consider them, I really think it’s an interesting blend of a comfortable NB sneaker and a durable hiking boot.

The best part is they’re mere $100, which isn’t a stunning amount to pay for footwear. Part of me simply thinks that if you want a hiking boot, just go ahead and invest in a pair of Danner or Diemme but these might be a nice middle ground between the boot and the shoe.
